Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep the floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency you'll need to manually vacuum. Look for one that offers an easy navigation, can sweep corners and stairs and also has a large dust bin that needs emptying only every few times.
You can also find models that clean and charge themselves This feature could be important for people with pets or children. Many of the best performers in our tests have good obstacle avoidance.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO, are identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ a great option for those who want a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience but don't mind taking the time to empty their robot's trash bin when it fills up.
Both robots are proficient at removing surface dirt on carpets and hard floors and can maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart map of your home to assist the i3+ to navigate and clean up efficiently. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots we tested, the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles and therefore it could be stuck on things like power cords or socks, and may have issues navigating across surface transitions, such as from hardwood to carpet.
iRobot recommends you clear out areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include clearing out any clutter or toys it might encounter. It's also recommended to keep the dust bin and filter clean so they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and emptys the dirt into the docking station's external dustbin. It then continues cleaning where it left off. Battery life is about an hour and a half of constant usage. It takes about three hours to charge.
2. Roomba from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and comes with all the latest features. It has self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, which allows it to map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and direct your robot by voice or via the app.
The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin, which removes major maintenance sources and reduces recurring cost.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to begin or stop cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. We were able, once connected, to speak commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is a sports car in a world of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in most homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered with seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries, which produces power without fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system captures allergens, and then lets cleaner air into your home. floor vacuum robot is specially designed and drives bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpet to suck up large crumbs and fine dust. It comes with three suction modes to meet the task being performed. It can quickly switch between handheld and floor vacuum and vice versa.
This model also has a dock that charges to 100% in around 3.5 hours and provides an easy access to two attachments and an Wand clip. This is a huge improvement over previous Dysons that require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The main drawback of the V10 is its limited run time. Its marketing claims that it can provide up to 60 minutes of run time are not true as CR's tests have shown. This is a common battery-powered cordless vacuum's running time. That's still enough run time to get rid of the majority of a typical-sized home, but not quite long enough to get every single area (though a second run-through usually will suffice). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeable superior on low-pile floor carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have lots of money to spend on an expensive robot. It was able to remove all kinds of debris and sizes during our tests, and frequently went over the same area many times to give an extensive clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach corners and edges of walls.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the ability to map that comes with more advanced models like our top choices and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It can get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways because it has fewer components that require regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries strips that can be controlled using the voice assistant on your smartphone. It is also more durable and has a more powerful motor, and is able to perform better on floors that are bare and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a greater variety of automation features.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a name is seen on a variety of electronic gadgets for your home So it's no surprise that they're one of the most popular mop and robot vacuum manufacturers. Jet Bot AI+ has a cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app offers a wide range of options for customizing your robotic cleaner. These include virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior modifications docking frequency settings, and much more. It's simple to comprehend and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our testing, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86 percent of it. However, it wasn't particularly well in avoiding larger objects, like cords and socks, which was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than the other models we tested, which might be a deterrent for certain shoppers.
The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that can be accessed via the app, and you can also create a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to keep track of your pets or kids when you're away from home. The filter and dustbin can be washed for quick, easy cleanup. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with an automatic clean station which helps keep the robot's bin clear and optimizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Black and Decker robots have been designed specifically for hard flooring. They feature an extra-wide cleaning path and a larger dustbin that holds 2X more debris than other models to keep the cleaning area free of debris for the longest period of time. Additionally, they come with two side sweepers to clean up around edges and in corners. The POWERSERIES model includes AutoSense that automatically adjusts the power level depending on whether it's picking up dirt on the surface or embedded dirt. It also comes with a smart app that lets you browse the virtual map, and control functions and schedules. You can also monitor the vacuum's status and send it to the dock for charging at the touch of a single button. The app lets you customize the LED lights on the top of the vacuum so that you can determine where it is focused or if it's stuck.
The app makes it possible to manually steer the robot when needed. For instance, my living room rug has a darkly-colored border that tends to make it difficult for other robots I've tested. However the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border, without registering it as a cliff. The ability to program a weekly cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage.
